Her Imperial Highness Maria Vladimirovna is received at the city gate on her official visit.  Greeting her upon arrival where the Honourable Mayor of Mdina, Chev. Peter de Conti Sant Manduca and Chev. Gr. Cr. Marco Spiteri Binett.  The visit to the old city included Casa Inguanez where her grand mother Princess Victoria Melita of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha had spent a part of her childhood.  HIH the Grand Duchess visited the Cathedral of St. Peter and Saint Paul and was welcomed by the Archpriest Rev. Monsignor Anthony Cassar.  Following a short walk around the historical streets of Mdina HIH was welcomed at the residence of Dame Louisette de Conti Sant Manduca to experience an impeccable view of the Island of Malta from her terrace.  The Grand Duchess invested Chev. Peter de Conti Sant Manduca with the Imperial Order of St. Stanislas.  He reciprocated by presenting her with a handmade silver filigree plate.  The Imperial Delegation together with guests of the Sant Manduca family then attended a dinner given in honour of Her Imperial Highness the Grand Duchess Maria who was warmly received wherever she visited.”
